AREA
If you have students advancing to Area, the auditions are Saturday, January 7 at Argyle HS. Please be sure to have your Area entry fee check for $20 per student when you check-in. The check should be made out to ATSSB Region 5. I have attached a form from ATSSB to be used as an invoice if your business office needs one. You do not need to bring any forms to the Area auditions. That will be done online following that contest. Please go over with your students the audition process and holding room guidelines for Area. They are slightly different than at the region contest.
I will try to email the Area Judging panels before the Christmas holidays.
JAZZ AREA FEES
I still haven't received Area Jazz fees from Anna ($40), Prosper ($440), and St. Mark's ($120). Please get those to me ASAP!
REGION CLINIC/CONCERT
The ATSSB Reg. 5 Clinic/Concert is January 13 & 14, 2012 at Propser HS. Students will be seated on Friday, Jan. 13 at 4pm. Rehearsal will start at 4:30pm and end at 7:30pm. Saturday's rehearsal will start at 9am and go till around 3pm or 3:30pm with an hour off for lunch (pizza provided by the region). The MS Concert Band will start at 4pm with the others to follow right after.
If you have a student who will not be attending the Region Clinic/Concert (a DNA), please email me for HS students and Darrell Crowder at Barbara Bush MS for MS students. We will contact the director of the next student in line. Please encourage your students to attend the clinic/concert, but if they're not, please let us know ASAP!
MS students should be able to get their music for the clinic now from the Greebhill band website. The link is: www.greenhill.org/allregionmusic <http://www.greenhill.org/allregionmusic> . HS students will get their music on Friday, Jan. 13 when they arrive at the clinic.
The next region meeting will be Saturday, January 14 at the Region Clinic/Concert at 9:30am. This is the most important meeting of the year because we set the calendar and select sites for all contests for next year and elect new region officers.
