Warren C. Dowdy was born on February 21, 1918 and passed on peacefully September 5, 2007. During his path through this world, he touched many. He will be remembered for his great love of life, his music, and his enormous sense of humor.

He never met a stranger, and was giving, forgiving and generous almost to a fault.

He is survived by his devoted wife Hazel, his four children Patricia, Margo, Tom, and Gene, and many nieces and nephews, some of whom considered him more of a father than just "Uncle Warren." He leaves behind his adoring grandchildren, many of whom he taught to fish and, more importantly, how to convincingly exaggerate the size of the catch.

He played the French horn and trumpet beautifully well into his 89th year. He was a brilliant music teacher and band director whose students still kept in touch years after graduation.

He was a beloved character and "Uncle Warren" stories are still circulating. He is now and forever will be sorely missed. A memorial service was held at St. Francis By the Lake in Canyon Lake, Texas on Sunday September 9th at 3:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: St. Francis By the Lake Episcopal Church, 13250 Highway 306 @ Spring Mountain Drive, P.O. Box 2031, Canyon Lake, TX 78133.
