Don E. Foster, 78, of De Kalb, Texas died Sunday, November 4, 2018 in a local care facility.
Don was born August 8, 1940 in Hughes Springs, Texas to William Esque and Mary Louise Black Foster. He was a graduate of Stephen F. Austin University, a long time band director at De Kalb High School, an electrician, and a member of First Baptist Church in De Kalb, Texas. Don was a wonderful musician who enjoyed singing and entertaining. He performed in several De Kalb Oktoberfest Cabaret Shows over the years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, Justin Foster.
He is survived by his wife, Pat Foster of De Kalb, Texas; one son, Monty Foster and his special friend, Twyla Wallace of De Kalb, Texas; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Sandy and Price Hamilton of De Kalb, Texas and Kelli and Gary Fannin of De Kalb, Texas; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Ann Morgan of Texarkana, Texas, Sue and Ray Koon of Hot Springs, Arkansas, and Edna Burgerson of Lone Star, Texas; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Haywood and her husband, Ray of New Boston, Texas, Chelsea Foster of New Boston, Texas, Mattie Hamilton of Chicago, Illinois, Jeb Hamilton of De Kalb, Texas, Foster Fannin of Nacogdoches, Texas, Grant Fannin of Conway, Arkansas, and Rachel Fannin of Denton, Texas; one great grandchild, Raylyn Haywood; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at First Baptist Church in De Kalb, Texas with Robby Bates officiating. Interment will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery in De Kalb, Texas.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at First Baptist Church in De Kalb, Texas.
