RONNIE PFEIL

SHINER - Ronnie Pfeil, age 61, died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2007. He was born Aug. 15, 1946 in Shiner to Edgar and Gladys Huber Pfeil.
Ronnie was a 1964 graduate of Shiner High School and graduated in 1968 from Texas Lutheran College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. In 1968, he returned to Shiner as band director to teach all levels of music. He taught in the Shiner ISD for over 30 years as the band director.
After retirement, he helped in the music department at Moulton and Shiner St. Paul schools and was currently working as a licensed insurance agent for Chumchal Insurance in Shiner; former president and Chief of Shiner Volunteer Fire Department; served on the board of directors for Shiner Game and Fish League over 30 years; and was currently emergency management coordinator for the city of Shiner and member of the Shiner Hobo Band.
He was recognized by the Hermann Sons Lodge as humanitarian of the year and received the Paul Harris Fellow Award from the Rotary Club. He was a member of the United Dr. Martin Luther Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his sisters, Dianne Finger and husband Tom of Shiner; and relatives and friends.
Funeral service is at 10 a.m. on Monday at the United Dr. Martin Luther Lutheran Church with the Rev. J. R. Westerfield officiating. Interment will be at Shiner Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. with prayer service at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to Shiner Volunteer Fire Department, Shiner ISD, or donor's choice.
