Try-outs will be Saturday, December 13, 2008 at Rusk High School in Rusk, Texas.
Be sure to use Year C of the PAL. This available at www.atssb.org
Also, the percussion has changed this year state wide. Again, refer to the PAL for the etudes for the combined percussion try-outs. |

Middle School All-Region Information |

Try-outs will be Friday, December 12, 2008 at Rusk High School in Rusk, Texas.
Be sure to use Year A of the SAL. This available at www.atssb.org
Also, the percussion for our region is not on the website. We voted to use our own music based on the SAL, but use a combined percussion try-out like the high school is now using. Below is the Year A percussion music. Remember all percussion must play all three etudes for the combined percussion try-out
Snare Drum: Haskell Harr, Book 2, pg. 118 - "Downshire". Quarter note = 104-128 Play all with no repeats.
Mallets: Modern School for Xylophone, Marimba, Vibraphone, Goldenberg. #I, pg. 27 - "Scherzo". Play all. Quarter note = 60-78
Timpani: Modern Method for Timpani, Goodman, Ex. 14, pg. 30. Quarter note = 86-98 Play all. |
