Edgewood 4th Annual Solo and Ensemble Contest

Edgewood will once again be hosting a solo and ensemble competition.  This is an excellent opportunity for your students to perform a solo or ensemble for an experienced judge while receiving constructive criticism.  Students will be awarded a medal for a superior rating and a certificate for a second division. 

 

Your students will be assigned by school and given 5 minutes to perform their piece.  There will be a room with a piano, but students will be assigned to this room only if accompaniment is provided.

 

The fee for solos is $6.00 per person.  Ensemble fee will be $6.00 per person and must have at least 2 performers but no more than 10 performers. Maximum Ensemble fee is $30.00.  On the entry forms, please list the name of each student, grade, and instrument.    Music selections need not be from the PML, but such music would be welcome. 

 

All the forms must be postmarked no later than March 30, 2007.  We will have a schedule ready and sent to you via email by April 5, 2007.  Please email an approximate number to me to help with scheduling by March 16, 2007.

The contest will be held at Edgewood High School.  The gym will be used as a warm-up room, and the teachers lounge will be used as a director’s and judges hospitality room.  The Edgewood Band Boosters will have a concession stand to feed your students with quite an extensive menu!
