Bring your device (laptop preferable) and power cord (and extension cords/power strips) to judge on. All judges will need a device to judge on (if you are not a judge you may be asked to step in the day of so please bring a device just incase).

- Area patches will given to Region Coordinators at the Area Contest
- Judging assignments will be based on google form sent out from Region Coordinators.
- Every effort will be made to “balance” the panels between regions.
New 2025-2026 Area Rules Update
- Prior to scales, students are allowed to play the first note of the first scale for no more than 5 seconds
- Prior to EACH etude, students are allowed to play the first note of the etude for no more than 5 seconds
- Should the student experience an instrument malfunction during the playing of the warm up or scales, the student may have the instrument checked for mechanical problems and return to the audition room. The deadline for returning to perform is 15 minutes after the last student auditions, in the round the malfunction occurred. Once a student sounds the first note of the etude, the student must continue to play and be scored
- FOR WINDS: During round 1, 2, and 3: IF there are 10 or more students auditioning, students are allowed a 30 second warm-up every 5 students. If there are 9 or less students, students will be given a 30-second warm up halfway through the round.
