In 2020, the total number of students involved in the band program grades 6 -12 was around 100. Currently, the program consists of 180+ students in grades 6-12. Last year, a bond was approved by voters that includes renovations to the junior high band hall, construction of a new 5th grade wing at the elementary which would move 5th grade off the junior high campus, construction of a new turf practice field at the junior high, and the construction of a new football stadium. This candidate would also team teach a 5th Grade Music Appreciation class. The Teague Band program has a history of being consistent UIL Sweepstakes Bands. The Teague Lion Band advanced to the 2015 UIL State Marching Contest and just recently, the THS Band placed 7th in the UIL 3A Area D Finals. Just this past school year, the Teague JH Band brought home its first ever UIL JH Sweepstakes Award from UIL C&SR Contest. Our band program has an enthusiastic, dedicated student body. Our administration and school board have been very supportive, recently approving the purchase of new band uniforms and new custom tops for Friday night lights and competitive marching season to give our students every opportunity to be successful and execute at a high level of demand.
